I just returned from a one-week vacation in Paris and stayed at the Residence Malesherbes, recommended to me by Parisian friend.
I have nothing to say but that was my best stay in a Paris hotel ever: staff was friendly, professional, attentive and helpful, rooms are clean and bedding comfortable, with an "air de je ne sais quoi" typical to Paris. And most important, it is very conveniently located for touristee outings, all at a very affordable rate!

We always wanted to visit Paris and stay in in an affordable, friendly venue, near the hart of the City. The Residence Malesherbes was everything we hoped for and more! Friendly staff, clean and airy rooms, well located, quiet,.... and great value for money... Warmly recommended!

We just returned from a 4 days trip to Paris and stayed at the Hotel Residence Malesherbes. We can recommend the hotel to anyone who prefers small, typically french (in the best sense) hotels over anonymous international hotel chains. The rooms are clean and done carefully everyday, if desired a kitchenette option is available (for some additional euros if not included in your package). Free WIFI - Internet as well as one computer terminal for guests use is available in the lobby. The staff is very helpful, for instance they displayed the remaining public transport options during a strike or the weather forecasts and regularly updated them. We have not used the breakfast option as of personal preferences.
The area around the hotel includes a supermarket almost opposite to the the hotel, furthermore a street market (rue Levis) and several authentic bistros and bars as well as small shops within 5 to 10 min walking distance. The area makes a very safe impression, even when returning home late by metro (< 10min walk to station "Villiers"). Consider checking the hotels' own website for special offers.

it's a very confortable boutique hotel near gare saint lazare. in our room there was a kitchen, it was a good idea after a long long day of shopping. Our room was nicely decorated and quite comfortable. staff is friendly and extremely helpful. it's a little gem near the champs elysees. We will definitely return to the Hotel romance malesherbes...

What a charming experience. We spent a we in Paris and we were very happy of our experience. You will get all you are looking for: this hotel is very clean, staff is great: they gave us very helpful advises and reccommended good typical affordable french restaurants. You won't be desappointed more

We loved this place!! the room was larger thab average, the staff very kind and we felt like real parisian people; DO NOT HESITATE!!!

Found this little "residence hotel" (each room has a kitchenette--very convenient!) online at Venere.com, after a lot of searching on various sites, including travelocity.com, orbitz.com, etc. It's tough to find a conveniently located budget hotel in downtown Paris, but I feel we did very well finding the Hotel Malesherbes.
